International Students Return to Australia
Update 18/01/2022
If you are fully vaccinated with a vaccine approved or recognised by Australia's Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA),
- You must immediately quarantine at home or other private accommodation upon arrival.
- Get a rapid antigen test or a PCR test if you don't have access to a rapid antigen test within 24 hours of arriving in Australia and continue to quarantine until you get a negative result.

Save The Date – Orientation
An Orientation Program is being prepared to welcome new students and welcome back students who may have been studying overseas and online for some time.
Your Orientation Program is compulsory and will consist of two parts:
- Department or Faculty Orientation – Information specific to your course, preparing to study, how to start classes etc
- International Orientation – Information specific to international students

Update 21/12/2021
From Tuesday, 21 December all fully vaccinated international travellers arriving in NSW and Victoria will be required to get a PCR test within 24 hours after arrival and isolate until they receive a negative result.
Arrivals no longer need to isolate for 72 hours regardless of result
All other conditions for arrival remain the same and you should regularly check:

Please note that the International Office will be closed until Tuesday, 4 January.

What to do on Arrival:
It is important you check updated information and quarantine requirements for the State you are arriving in:

Melbourne, Victoria
- Get a COVID-19 (PCR) test at the airport on arrival (if you do not get test at airport, you must get a test within 24 hours of arrival!)
- Go straight to home to your accommodation. Self-quarantine for 72 hours
- Get another standard COVID-19 (PCR) test between day 5 and 7 after arriving in Australia.
- There are restrictions on entering sensitive settings such as school, age care facilities or hospitals.
Sydney, New South Wales
- Get a COVID-19 (PCR) test at the airport on arrival (if you do not get test at airport, you must get a test within 24 hours of arrival!)
- Go straight to your home or accommodation
- Self-isolate for 72 hours
- Get another COVID-19 PCR test on day 6
- Don't visit high risk places until you get a negative day 6 test result

The Prime Minister has announced that upcoming changes to travel arrangements for international students will now come into effect from 15 December 2021 (previously announced as 1 December).
Please ensure that you check the Australian government website each day as you plan to travel.
All announcements may be subject to change and it is important you check every day before your planned departure.

We are excited to inform you that the Australian, Victorian and NSW governments are moving towards allowing international students to travel to Australia.
You have probably read news in your home country.
From 1 December 2021, fully vaccinated eligible visa holders can now travel to Australia without needing to apply for a travel exemption.
You must already have a valid Student Visa (subclass 500)
If you do not have a Visa, please ensure that you commence your visa application for study in 2022.
It is our advice that you commence your planned return for resuming your studies at Angliss in February 2022.
It would be advisable to now check flight availability and consider purchasing a flight ticket to secure your travel plan.
It is important now that you get ready for your travel
- Ensure you have a current student visa with an active COE attached.
- You must be fully vaccinated with a completed dosage of a vaccine approved or recognised by Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) https://covid19.homeaffairs.gov.au/vaccinated-travellers
- You must have valid proof of your vaccination status. It is important that your proof of vaccination meets the requirements of the Australian government. https://www.passports.gov.au/guidance-foreign-vaccination-certificates
- Before you travel – you need to obtain a negative COVID-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test taken within 3 days of departure (unless a medical exemption applies).
Quarantine
Students arriving in Melbourne and Sydney are now required to self-quarantine for 72 hours.
