Biography
Jess Derham has more than 19 years of experience working in Higher Education, teaching into Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management. She is passionate about the tourism industry and empowering her students through industry engagement and authentic learning opportunities. She is currently a Tourism Lecturer where she draws on her leadership, research, and technology skills to support the delivery of degrees which meets industry needs and inspires the leaders of the future. She has received several teaching and scholarship awards, including a Teaching Excellence Award for her innovations to enhance student learning and engagement. Jess holds a Master of Business (Tourism Management) and Bachelor of Business (Honours) in Tourism Management from La Trobe University. Jess was a former Chair of the Young Tourism Network (YTN) and has been a judge for the Victorian Tourism Awards. She is a current Board Member of the Bayside Tourism Network.
