Biography
Birgitta is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Higher Education. She has an extensive background in Tourism Management education which spans over 20 years. Her teaching and training experience extends across Australia as well as Timor Leste and NEOM, Saudi Arabia. Birgitta is a highly skilled trainer in the areas of tourism and tour guiding, and has published an academic article and industry report focusing on Australia's tour guiding industry. In addition to her teaching roles, Birgitta has actively worked in the tourism industry as a multi-lingual small business tour operator, tour guide and training content developer for over 30 years.
Birgitta is currently a PhD research student focusing on the multi-dimensional impacts of Higher Education reconciliation action plans (RAPs).
Birgitta's passion lies in community-based travel where she can leverage her proficiency in 5 languages, and enjoy supporting responsible and sustainable travel.
