The Student Profile gives an indication of the likely peer cohort for new students at William Angliss Institute. It provides data on all students that commenced undergraduate study. Where to get further information
Admission Criteria
All applicants must achieve the minimum number of eligibility points and meet any compulsory course criteria to be eligible for admission.
Eligibility points are a combination of ATAR score, previous study, work experience and other factors. Individual course admission criteria can be found under each course of study. Click here.
Applicants are advised to provide as much evidence as possible to support their application. This may include transcripts of units or subjects of study, academic awards and certificates, academic letters of reference, detailed résumé, position descriptions, employment references, personal letters of reference, medical certificates, health care card, community recognition and awards and personal statements.
Applicants with Higher Education study
Applicants who have successfully completed 50% of subjects attempted during a formal study period at Bachelor level or above may be awarded the minimum number of eligibility points required for course entry.
Any individual course admission requirements must also be met.
You may be entitled to academic credit for prior learning, whether formal or informal. See Additional Information for further details.
Applicants with Vocational Education and Training study
Applicants who have successfully completed VET study at:
- AQF4 or above may be awarded the minimum number of eligibility points for course admission.
- AQF3 and below may contribute to the minimum number of eligibility points required for course admission. The remaining eligibility points may be awarded based on equity and other considerations.
Any individual course admission requirements must also be met.
You may be entitled to academic credit for prior learning, whether formal or informal. See Additional Information for further details.
Applicants with recent Secondary Education (within the past two years)
Australian year 12 students
An ATAR, equivalent ATAR or approved notational ATAR (for IB qualifications) may contribute to the minimum eligibility points required for course entry.

ATAR-related adjustments
Equity and other considerations may contribute to the minimum eligibility points required for course entry.
William Angliss Institute participates in the four categories within the VTAC Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) that cover: personal information and location, difficult circumstances, disadvantaged financial background and disability or medical condition.
You can apply using the VTAC Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) if applying through VTAC, or by direct application.
Any individual course admission requirements must also be met.
Criteria that may apply in addition to ATAR

Other admission options
All applicants for undergraduate and postgraduate courses of study at William Angliss must achieve the minimum eligibility points for course admission. There are no alternative admission options. Recent school leavers may be awarded eligibility points based on some or all of the following:
- Equity and other considerations
- Work experience that is clearly aligned to the specialist fields of William Angliss Institute: Foods, Tourism, Hospitality and Events.
- Other work experience
Interstate year 12
Applications with year 12 qualifications outside Victoria are assessed in the same as way as Victorian year 12 applicants by using an equivalent ATAR rank provided by VTAC. The only exception to this is for applicants from Queensland where the Overall Position (OP) ranking system is used. The OP rank is used in place of ATAR. Comparison tables for Queensland OP ranks can be found on the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC) website.

Applicants with work and life experience
All applicants for undergraduate and post graduate courses of study at William Angliss must achieve the minimum eligibility points for course admission. Applicants who left or completed secondary school more than 2 years ago are considered mature age and awarded eligibility points on that criteria. The remaining points may be awarded based on some or all of the following:
- Equity and other considerations
- Work experience that is clearly aligned to the specialist fields of William Angliss Institute: Foods, Tourism, Hospitality and Events.
- Other work experience

Additional Information
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
All Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants will be awarded eligibility points towards the minimum required for course admission.
Domestic applicants with overseas qualifications
International qualifications are assessed for equivalence to the AQF. Please note that applicants must meet individual course admission criteria.
English language proficiency

Recognition of Prior Learning
You may be entitled to credit for prior learning, whether formal or informal. Formal learning can include previous study in higher education, vocational education, or adult and community education. Informal learning can include on the job learning or various kinds of work and life experience. Credit can reduce the amount of study needed to complete a degree.

How to Apply
Domestic applicants
Applicants can apply to study at William Angliss via the following methods:

VTAC APPLICATIONS
You'll need to apply to study at Angliss through Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) if:
- you're a Victorian Year 12 student or
- you're non Year 12 student who intends to apply to multiple institutions
- AND you're applying for a Diploma or Advanced Diploma course
Certificate course applications can apply direct to William Angliss Institute.

Successful VTAC applicants will receive a letter of offer via VTAC in either the December,January or February rounds. William Angliss will follow this offer letter with instructions on how to accept your offer and enrolment instructions to commence your course at Angliss.
VTAC SPECIAL ACCESS ENTRY SCHEME (SEAS)
The Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) enables our selection officers to grant special consideration to certain students where applicable.
To be eligible applicants for SEAS must also submit a VTAC course application and satisfy all relevant course entry requirements. Angliss supports SEAS for the following categories:

3. Difficult circumstances
4. Disadvantaged financial background
