Keeping you safe on campus
Studying on campus
William Angliss Institute continues to carefully monitor the COVID-19 situation to ensure the safety of our community as we deliver training both online and on-campus as directed by the Victorian Government.
There is a single point of entry to campus located at 555 La Trobe Street, Ground Floor Building A entrance.
On entry to campus, you will be required:
- Check-in via the Service Victoria app
- Show your confirmed check-in to our friendly security staff
- If you leave campus you will be requested to check-in again if you return to ensure everyone is registered
- Have a temperature check on arrival
The advice remains the same: if you are unwell or developing cold or flu symptoms, you are urged to stay home as per recommendations from the Department of Health and Human Services.

Emergency Evacuation Procedure
In the event of an emergency evacuation, the Institute has two alarms.
The first alarm is an alert alarm (beep, beep, beep) - prepare to evacuate and be on alert for an evacuation announcement. Evacuation alarm (whoop, whoop, whoop) – you must evacuate (get out of the building) and make your way to the assembly area. You will be directed by the Fire Wardens wearing the yellow fluoro vest to where the assembly area is located.
The Institute’s Assembly Area is Flagstaff Gardens. Do not use lifts when evacuating. Do not re-enter the building until instructed to do so. Information about emergency evacuation is available on Evacuation Diagrams and Standard Fire Orders which are posted in prominent locations throughout the Institute.
If you have difficulty using stairs or require assistance to evacuate a building during an emergency evacuation, please consult with our Disability Support Services to prepare a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP).
