Students toast William Angliss Institute Australian Award success
Australia's foods, tourism, hospitality and events specialists receive top training award.
Despite being based in the most locked down city in the world, specialist training provider William Angliss Institute has been recognised as Large Training provider of the Year at the Australian Training Awards on November 18.
The award recognises a registered training organisation, delivering more than 50 qualifications, that offers a broad range of training products and services and demonstrates excellence and high level performance in all aspects of vocational education and training.
As a vocational education and training provider that provides short courses through to Masters Degrees as well as training and consulting services for businesses, the Institute is unique in its offering. William Angliss Institute is a specialist training centre for the foods, tourism, hospitality and events industries – arguably some of the hardest hit in the past two years.
"We are honoured to be recognised as a national leader in training thanks to the Australian Training Awards," said CEO Nicholas Hunt. "Through the disruptions associated with the pandemic, our staff, students and partners have done amazing work which we wanted to acknowledge with our nomination."
The Institute won the Victorian Training Awards Large Training Provider of the Year category in October and was shortly after announced as a finalist for the Australian Training Awards.
Judges for the awards were impressed by the Institute's student services from learning assistance to mental health support, right through to unique partnerships built to enhance the student experience.
"We are intrinsically linked with the industries we support, and even with remote learning were lucky to have guest lecturer, virtual site visits, and partnerships for student assessments so students had real-world experience while studying with us," continued Mr Hunt. "We've also had the chance to upgrade facilities and have had more job opportunities for our students than ever, showing there is definitely demand for well-trained graduates looking for a career in foods, tourism, events and hospitality."
William Angliss Institute has a campus in Melbourne and Sydney, as well as trainers across Australia and at international training facilities.
Enrolments are currently open for courses starting in February 2022, for those wanting to start their experience industry career with an award-winning training provider.
