Angliss partners with Young Tourism Network
Angliss and Young Tourism Network (YTN) have renewed their partnership with a two-year commitment to strengthen ties with the Travel and Tourism industry. The partnership will focus on helping VET and Higher Education students build their professional networks before completing their qualifications.
Established in 2005, YTN is a not-for-profit networking group led by passionate volunteers in the Tourism and Travel industry in Victoria. Through social and professional development events and industry alliances, they aim to enhance and foster career development and professional excellence.
YTN has been instrumental in helping Angliss alumni and students such as Hayley Fraser (Visitors Services Team Leader at Victoria Zoo and YTN Membership Coordinator) and Melissa Adamson (Digital Health Check Assessor at Tourism Tribe and Marketing & Social Media Coordinator at YTN) in furthering their careers.
Angliss Alumni Hayley Fraser has shown great dedication throughout her academic career, and her experience was boosted by the opportunities she came across through the YTN Trusted Advisor Program.
"In 2019, I was selected to be one of five students in Melbourne to be part of the YTN Trusted Advisor Program. I received mentoring from five incredible advisors and was lucky enough to go to their workplaces to spend half a day with each," said Hayley.
The tourism industry piqued Melissa's interest from a very young age. Her primary focus was ecotourism; however, her experiences from her studies and YTN helped broaden her horizons and expand her interest.
"Since becoming a YTN member, I can finally see myself working in the industry. It has been incredibly inspiring to meet and listen to friendly individuals who have already established themselves in this industry. I also gained my first tourism-related experience as YTN's Committee Observer." said Melissa.
We're excited to work on many exciting events with YTN and bring career starting opportunities for our students and alumni.
